Food Bags for Rock Rest Elementary Students
FBCm has been sponsoring the Food Bags ministry at Rock Rest Elementary for around 20 years, providing extra nourishment for students who may need a little additional help over the weekend. Rock Rest is one of 13 Title I schools in Union County, and more than 70% of its students are non-native English speakers.
In Matthew 25:35, Jesus reminds us:
"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home."
Each month, the Missions Board provides the food, and church volunteers gather to pack and deliver food bags to the school. These bags give students extra food to take home and enjoy over the weekend.
This is a simple but meaningful way to put Jesus' words into action and care for children in our community.
